I have seen and read many blog posts, comments, status updates, and tweets lately about the topic of writer’s block. It seems this is a common problem among writers and one that is talked about regularly.
Therefore, I thought I would throw my hat into the writer’s block ring and offer the following 3 ways to overcome writer’s block. These are by no means all-inclusive or exhaustive, but are a few things that have helped me in my own writing and blogging, so I hope they will help you as well. Literally. Leave your home, office, or other workspace and clear your head. View the world. See things from a new perspective. Talk to someone in person or on the phone. Just do something besides worrying about that next blog post.
Two pro bloggers that have supported this idea recently are Aaron Lee and John Saddington (AKA TentBlogger). Having someone to help you write and to bounce ideas off of can be invaluable. It also keeps you accountable.
There’s nothing that’s gets the creative juices flowing like reading. Three places I find helpful to read when I have writer’s block include StumbleUpon, my Twitter favorites, and my starred items in Google Reader. You can also find inspiration by reading other blogs in your niche.
