I promised in that post that I would write about it again when resolution had occurred. Unfortunately, however, resolution has not occurred. While the leadership in question has acknowledged responsibility for what happened and is willing to offer an apology asking for forgiveness, the other party involved is unwilling to listen and unwilling to meet at this time. I was hoping to be able to write this post with a sense of spiritual joy — having a great story to share about responsibility, leadership, and forgiveness, but it is not so. While I continue to pray for God’s hand in this matter, I am unsure of a resolution as time goes by. Please pray with me that wounds will be healed and relationships mended. A couple of months ago, I wrote this post about an incident in our church. The long and the short of it? Sunday was going along well — just like any other Sunday at First Baptist Church of Ellenton. God’s presence was obvious. The worship was wonderful. The preaching was pointed. Everything seemed to be clicking. Then “it” happened. You can read more about “it” here.
