As I have mentioned before, my friend Dan King has created a challenge over at his blog, BibleDude. However, this week’s challenge has a new twist. This time, we are to choose a photo under creative commons license on Flickr and use the image to inspire a blog post — sort of opposite from the way blog posts are normally written. Therefore, I have chosen the following photo: For some reason, this image reminded me of the old hymn Open My Eyes, That I May See. Here are the lyrics for the first verse and chorus: Open my eyes, that I may see Silently now I wait for Thee, As I looked at the person sitting on the left, it seems he is simply meditating and waiting. I think sometimes this is exactly what we as Christians need to be reminded of — to simply wait silently, patiently, and tell God we are ready — whenever and for whatever that may be. As we continue through this Christmas season, maybe this is the perfect time to slow down from the busyness of our lives and truly, honestly seek God and His will. What say you? Thank you so much for reading my humble musings and ramblings here at Footsteps of Faith. If you like this blog, would you consider sharing it on Twitter, Facebook, or your blog? You can also subscribe by email or RSS feed to ensure you stay up-to-date with the newest posts. Thanks again for reading!
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Ready my God, Thy will to see,
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit divine!

I say amen. This is a really cool image, and honestly I was in too much of a hurry looking at it that I didn’t even notice the person sitting there until you mentioned it and I looked back…
Thanks for the reminder and for sharing the cool image!
Hey Dan! thanks for stopping by…
I looked through pages and pages of images before I came across this one…
