I don’t know about you, but this is an intriguing development to me. I’ve only been using Google Voice / Gmail calling for a short time, but now that it will be free for another year, I may continue to use it more often. Here’s how Google explained it on their Google Voice Blog: When we launched calling in Gmail back in August, we wanted it to be easy and affordable, so we made calls to the U.S. and Canada free for the rest of 2010. In the spirit of holiday giving and to help people keep in touch in the new year, we’re extending free calling for all of 2011. In case you haven’t tried it yet, dialing a phone number works just like a regular phone. Look for “Call phone” at the top of your Gmail chat list and dial a number or enter a contact’s name. For more information or to install the application, you can go to Google Voice. Leave a comment below whether you use Google Voice or not and why. I’ve had google voice for a while, use it. loveit.
I use it primarily for the voicemail inbox, and selling stuff on craigslist. It’s great now, and it’s only going to get better, especially since the engineers over there in cupertino are working on incorporating the video w/ google voice
LTE/Verizon/Video chat anybody?
Hey Ben — thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you shared your experience with Google Voice as I don’t know that many people yet who are using it and I was wondering what others thought about it. Take care and God bless…
I’ve kind of completely jumped on the Google bandwagon, it’s a little scary but they’ve just made everything work real well together.
